To describe my lifelong fascination with flight and with creatures that fly I like to echo the words of John James Audubon who in 1839 wrote of himself as "...one who never can cease to admire and to study with zeal and the most heartfelt reverence, the wonderful productions of an Almighty Creator."

Violet-green Swallow gathering feathers
Today the Violet-green Swallow is concentrating on adding feathers to her nest. I suspect that means she is about finished building and soon will be laying eggs.
After that big beetle day I have not seen any in the nestbox. I'm guessing that they all escaped because a day later the box appeared to be empty. Now I'm wondering if she continues to bring some in, but that I can't see them because of all the nesting material. I do see occasional movements of small critters, but I don't know who they are or how they got there.
dear floyd we see lots of birds here. we once saw a ruby throated huming bird and once when we were out side we herd an owl somtime we even see vulters sometimes. Elisha.
