The Flycatcher

Merlin on Melrose
Last winter a Merlin took up residence in my neighborhood for several weeks. This winter a Merlin is here again, and I suspect it might be the same one. On January 30 it was perched on a powerline along Melrose Avenue eating a small bird. I assume that it quite likely was one of the sick Pine Siskins that have been showing up at my feeders lately.
